Iora has over 40 years of experience in health care provision and administration, including faith-based nursing and Lay Pastoral leadership. She has served on the board of directors for KHF since its inception and believes “recovery is possible”.
Valdor Haglund
RN , BSN, MS - Vice President & Secretary
Valdor is a retired Nurse Anesthetist and is currently an Assistant Professor in the doctoral program of Nurse Anesthesia at Wayne State University. He is a musician and has been an active member of his church since 1991.
Lars Haglund
BFA - Director Web Presence & Marketing
Lars has an accomplished vocational career spanning from acting to ministry, teaching to counseling and medical device sales. He has a passion for helping people understand who they truly are, made in the image of God. He is thankful to help KHF in areas he has gained experience over the years with in social media platforms, vision and direction.
Patricia Sholtis
BBA, MAcc, CPA
Patricia is a CPA and auditor for PwC in Charlotte, NC specializing in Asset and Wealth Management firms. She is passionate about helping people and uses her spare time to work with financial literacy education and coach part-time with [solidcore].
Kaylin Boni
MSW LIMHP
Kaylin is an Independently Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and has training in EMDR. Located in Nebraska, Kaylin has spent the last 12 years helping individuals find freedom from eating and body image disorders. Faith is a cornerstone in her own life and drives her passion in helping others heal and have grace with their own story. Kaylin has spent the last 13 years recovered from her own battle with an eating disorder.

Melissa Bolton
MA, LPC - Program Director
Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. She is excited to direct a program that will equip participants with the practical tools they need to implement their recovery goals outside of the therapy room.
Laura Griffin
RD - Associate Director of Nutrition
Laura is a registered dietitian nutritionist and eating disorder specialist in the outpatient treatment setting. She practices from a non-diet approach and is passionate about supporting individuals in their recovery and assisting them in establishing a positive relationship with food and their body.
Jennifer Smith Lane
BAEd - Certified Eating Disorder Recovery Coach
Jennifer Smith Lane is the president and co-founder of the Michigan Eating Disorders Alliance whose mission is to provide education programs to prevent eating disorders. In addition to her non-profit work, she has written an award-winning Bible Study, birthed out of her own struggle with an eating disorder, to help others on their recovery journey and empower them to find freedom in Christ.
Megan Becker

Megan is a registered dietitian with a goal to empower individuals to find healing and to foster a healthy relationship with food and body image. She has a focus on spiritual health and invites a grace-centered approach to health and healing.
Bella Largin
MS, RDN
Bella Largin is a non-diet and weight neutral registered dietitian who is currently working alongside those in recovery from an eating disorder or disordered eating at the Intensive Outpatient and individual level of care. She aims to practice with a patient-centered approach and feels passionate about equitable opportunities for treatment and quality eating disorder care.
Sarah Sundari Thom
RN, BSN, CCRN - Certified Eating Disorder Recovery Coach
Sarah has over 20 years of experience in Critical Care Medicine, with proficiencies in allopathic medicine, mindfulness, meditation, sound healing therapy, and self-empowerment training. Currently, Sarah works at Ai Pono Residential providing support and guidance to individuals on their path to eating disorder recovery. With direct training from Carolyn Costin, she earned her title as a Certified Eating Disorder Recovery Coach. Assisting individuals worldwide, Sarah brings compassion and expertise to her coaching. Based in Hawaii, Sarah enjoys surfing, drumming, sound healing and hiking.

Kara Pate, MA has worked in the mental health and eating disorder industry for the past 14 years. She is passionate about helping those in need of treatment find the best care possible.
Alexandra Forsythe
Certified Eating Disorder Recovery Coach
Alexandra’s longtime passion for the body inspired her to complete the Registered Massage Therapy program in British Columbia, Canada, and to run her own Massage Therapy practice. Recovering from an eating disorder led her to Carolyn Costin's Eating Disorder Recovery Coach program. She loves creating workshops, facilitating support groups and coaching individuals. Her knowledge and experience allow her to be a supportive guide for those in recovery. She’s excited to educate and share "recovery is possible". Alexandra enjoys hiking, gardening and creating in the kitchen.
Alexandra Crosson-Brown

Alexandra is CEO & Co-Founder of MYBody, a wellness center that specializes in the holistic treatment of eating disorders, trauma and mental health. Alexandra's background in social justice, public health and wellness is what guides her desire to bring recovery to individuals, families and communities through promotion of body autonomy, intuitive living and healing.
Amanda Weller
BS - Fundraising & Outreach Manager
Amanda discovered her passion for mental health advocacy after recovering from her own eating disorder. She started a blog and mental health platform, “Choose Harmony”, collaborating with over two hundred fellow Miss America titleholders to bring awareness to mental health. Amanda served on the Alumnae Board for Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center and as a former KHF Intern coordinated Missouri's first Freedom Walk in 2023. Based in Chicago, Amanda enjoys playing with her two kittens.

Sarah Templeton, our social media intern is in her last year of education at the University of Georgia pursuing a degree in Mathematics. She has been involved with the Miss America Organization since 2017 and is currently Miss Augusta 2023. She looks forward to KHF's growth and herself as she continues to support the foundation.
Britta Carlson
Intern, Media & Communications
Britta was born and raised in Michigan and has spent a few years in Sweden. Despite her love for sunshine and outdoor activities, she is currently in England pursuing a degree in Journalism. Britta is deeply passionate about writing and creative media, and enjoys sipping iced chai with loved ones on the weekends. It is her hope that, by working together with KHF, she can make a positive difference for individuals recovering from an eating disorder—a battle that is near and dear to her heart.
